Finally!!!!!

they're done! my infamous pomato-freakin'-mus socks are done!! i've never had to frog so much in my life. i tend to be a very sequential person and i guess that threw me all off here. i'd get that lace pattern in my head and keep going logically, not paying attention to small little changes here and there. at one point i had lost 6 stitches! how the hell do you lose 6 stitches?!?!?!? so inevitably both socks are slightly different because i made completely different mistakes in both. good thing no one gets that close to my feet! they'll all see from a distance and comment on how cool they are an none will be the wise :o) knit w/ Lorna's Laces in Jungle Stripes

i picked up yarn today to start Tara's baby blanket. i'll probably cast on right after i'm done posting here. i went to my LYS to find yarn for a baby sweater too, only to find they're in the midst of moving. half the store was gone and the other half was a disaster area! the owner is all excited she keeps telling me how great the new place is and to visit her on Thursday because they'll be ready. i can't wait to see it!!!

I've Been Tagged!!

Anja Knits tagged me with the 7 things meme.

The rules: Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those who are tagged need to write on their own blog those 7 facts as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven other people and list their names on your blog. Then you leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

okay, let's see....

1) i have an unexplained affinity for even numbers. i count everything (hence my love of knitting maybe?), footsteps, stairs, chews, random things...

2) i HATE wet paper of any kind and bandaids. UGH! UGH! UGH! it seriously gives me the heebyjeebies!

3) i have a scar on the bottom of my chin from a silly childhood injury. we had gone to the community swimming pool one afternoon (as we did everyday) and i decided i was going to show off to everyone. i was jumping, not flipping, backwards off the edge of the pool. i didn't quite jump back far enough and smacked my chin on the concrete edge of the pool. yes, i learned my lesson!

4) i was a big nerd in high school, but also one of the "alternative freaks". i wore crazy hair, concert shirts, and obnoxious goodwill clothing. but i also played soccer, was president of National Honor Society, vp of the girl's Key club, held offices in other clubs and managed to graduate 8th in my class

5) everynight i have to go through the same routine which involves going to the bathroom, brushing my teeth, putting on chapstick and lotion, reading until i doze off, going to the bathroom again, and then finally going to bed.

6) i met my husband through my mother. we were friends for many years before we ever started dating. i never would have thought we'd one day be happily married!

7) i am addicted to Stumble Upon for Firefox. i could spend hours clicking the button and wasting time on the internet. there should be a support group, really :0)

I'll be a better blogger soon!

yes indeed! because the school year officially ends on THURSDAY!!! whoo~freakin'~hoo! and my classroom is pretty much packed up. i can make it, i know i can!

in knitting news, i still have a couple of works in progress. i did finish my first Seize Diamondback and the second one is in the works...

i am still working on my second Pomatomus. It's been on hold.

i started spinning my gorgeous Pink Lady roving from Pigeonroof Studios. it's beautiful! however its my first time spinning merino and i'm having some trouble with it. not to be discouraged however, i'll do it!

i'm very excited i sold my first handpainted yarn on Etsy today!! ***squeeeel***

today was also tara's sonogram. i was crossing my fingers for a boy, but it's a girl! i'm very happy for her and danny. she REALLY wanted a girl!

last week was anthony's kindergarten awards and performance. they danced to Zippy-de-do-dah. he really raked in the awards too!! i'm so proud.

okay, anyway. i'm off to shower and spin up some more yarn. that's all for today

I've been a busy bee......

getting things up on my etsy shop, spinning, beading, dyeing, working on 2 different pairs of socks, and of course squares for the L&V Scarf Circle! it's amazing i'm keeping my head up!

we're counting down the days until school is out. not much longer thank god! today the kiddies were wild, you could definitely tell its a full moon!

i've had lots of goodies show up in the mail: two books from amazon: Color in Spinning and Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook
new circs from knitpicks, and finally, today...... Black Pheonix Alchemy Labs perfume oils!!! woo hoo!

there's still more fun coming: my magic yarn ball on its way from Welsh Minnie in the UK, roving from Pigeon Roof Studios, two skeins of yarn from Miss Lime, and hopefully ***crosses fingers*** dyed yarn from a swap partner I never once heard from. the dyeing to dye socks swap ended on 4/30, but i hadn't gotten a single email from my partner. i emailed the swap administrator today to check it out. i hope i didn't get a swap dud! that would SUCK!

anyway. i think i'm developing carpal tunel sydrom from typing today. i'm off to watch the office!

New Etsy Shop!!!

I've finally opened my new Etsy.com site:
firedupfairy.etsy.com

I've put up my handpainted sock yarn and stitch markers. You should go check it out :o)
